Hypnosis
Hypnosis is a state of physical relaxation. A turning of attention inward or to subjective reality.
A heightened receptivity to suggestion.
Although we use the ideas of conscious mind, subconscious mind, unconscious mind, etc. in hypnosis there are no clear cut definitions for these aspects of consciousness.
In simple terms, the conscious mind includes the cluster of mental, emotional, and physical activity of which we are aware at any given moment while the unconscious mind includes those aspects of our mental, emotional and physical activity of which we are unaware at any given moment. NEURO-LINGUISTIC PROGRAMMING
Neuro (thinking)Linguistic (speech) Programming (behavior)
NLP was developed in the early 70’s by Richard Bandler and John Grinder. They began to study master communicators like Virginia Satir and Milton Erickson. They watched, listened and modeled these exceptional people making it possible to teach these skills to others.
NLP is a model of human behavior and communication. It involves how people represent, decode and process incoming and outgoing information. In essence, NLP studies the neuro-linguistic process and its interaction with the environment. As these processes interact, they are represented, organized and sequenced into patterns and models of language and behavior, which are stored in an individual. These stored neural patterns become a basis for influencing future behavior.
A SUCCESS STORY WITH PANIC & ANXIETY
A young man in his early 30`s came to see me with pain and pressure on the left side of the chest. He was also experiencing panic attacks. As a result of these symptoms he was unable to think clearly, unable to feel comfortable and unable to set goals for himself. He had been to see the doctor, had several tests and all the results came back negative. He came for a consultation and first therapy session which was about 2 hours in duration. He came for a second appointment one week later and the symptoms he had been experiencing improved by approximately 75%. Two years later, he has a better job; he is taking college courses, playing a musical instrument, just to name a few. Without the pain, anxiety and panic he has been able to set and achieve very clear goals for himself.
We can change! It’s a matter of taking the first step!
